The Eight Elements of Buddhism

Change of temper is the key
After learning Buddhism, the first thing to do is to change your angry temper, because when it rises up, it burns down the forest of merit, and all the previous work is lost! As long as anger is not changed, it is determined that one cannot be reborn in the Pure Land. How to change? In the face of all the realms of discontent, first of all, we must firmly believe in karma. How others hurt me means how I hurt them in my past life, so I recognize the debt and accept my fate. If you don’t believe in karma, it’s the same as borrowing money from someone in the past and not wanting to pay it back. Some people don’t believe in karma, and they say, “If I didn’t see it, it doesn’t exist.” It’s like saying there’s nothing in the United States because you didn’t see it, is that right? That’s your own opinion. What comes your way is your destiny, and you can’t hide from it; only by following your destiny will you be able to fulfill your karma. At that time, Mrs. Vaitish gave birth to a son, grew up with the ability to begin to disobey his parents, his father locked up, usurped power after the king, wanted to put his father in prison to starve to death, Vaitish secretly to the king to bring food, was found by the son, the son wanted to kill his mother, Mrs. Vaitish, Mrs. Vaitish rolled on the ground and cried, but the pain and suffering can not solve the problem, or the Buddha pointed out a way for her to seek refuge in the Pure Land. The Buddha pointed out to her a way out of the Pure Land, let her seek the Buddha’s blessing, and told her, this is the reincarnation of the person you once killed, is to take revenge, this pain is only your own to bear, but the belief in the Buddha can alleviate the pain.

If you blame others, you are creating karma
What kind of person with a lifetime, is your past life karma cause call, good for you, is your past life is also good for him, bad for you, must be your past life is also bad for him, there is no difference, are repayment of kindness, revenge, debt, debt collection of these four kinds of edge, children are also included. What’s even more ridiculous is that some of the majority of life has passed, still regret, how I found such an old partner, how so unlucky, all let me stalled. Such thoughts are purely in the creation of karma, which is delusion, contrary to the cause and effect of the nonsense.
Fate earns less money, fate is not smooth ……, blame who? I’m going to blame myself. If you blame someone else once, it is the same as giving yourself a bowl of poison to drink, the suffering is their own. The best way to do this is to be honest with yourself, believe in karma, develop a bodhicitta mindset, be mindful of the Buddha, and give back to all living beings, so that you will be able to change your reality and change your destiny!

What you are afraid of is what comes to you.
Some people are afraid of going to hell. If you think about it, why would you go to hell if you don’t create the cause of hell? As long as you don’t hold any grudges against others, don’t be jealous of others, don’t be sentimental, don’t do any harm to others, don’t be selfish, how can you go to hell? What one fears invites what one fears, “Fear brings forth ghosts, and suspicion is taken by the devil.” The more one is greedy for life and afraid of death, the more death follows him. If you think about it, where is death? The Heart Sutra clearly says that “there is no old age or death,” that immortality is the reality, and that there is no real death. Death is just a change of clothes. Those who are greedy and stingy will change into the clothes of the ghost path; those who are angry will change into the clothes of hell and go to hell to suffer; those who are full of evil views and don’t know why they live every day, and those who eat and sleep and sleep and eat, will change into the clothes of the animal path and go to the life of the animals; those who are able to honor their parents, hold the five precepts, and practice the ten good karma to achieve the middle grade, will change into the clothes of a human being and continue to be a human being; those who are good at the ten good karma and practice the Four Immeasurable Minds, will change into the clothes of a human being. The good ten good karma practice and practice the four immeasurable minds have a certain degree of wisdom, can be reincarnated in heaven, enjoy the blessings of more, but still reincarnation, until his enjoyment of the blessings of the end, and should be reincarnated again. Therefore, while we have attained the human body now, we must hasten to accumulate the cause of Buddhahood and obtain the fruit of Buddhahood.

Contentment is the law of following one’s destiny, the law of peace of mind.
If you are contented, you will always be happy. With regard to money, how much or how little you earn is your destiny. You should spend more when you earn more and less when you earn less, and you should never compare yourself with others. I don’t look down on people who earn a lot of money, and I don’t look down on people who earn less money. I do not envy anyone’s blessings, envy others blessings, do so, planted is the cause of rebirth, we are to get rid of life and death, seeking the ultimate liberation, not more than the blessings, that is, there is a big blessings, but also to share with the living beings, and will never enjoy their own. Some people think that the good life is calculated, not true. There is such a saying, save and save, the hole waits. Calculating only changes the result, the change is too small. You have to start from the “cause”. For couples, we should be content with whatever comes our way. If it is against me, I am satisfied, you think, than scold me, scold me than beat me, beat me than not living, not living than don’t want me, at least for me to be a companion, encountered don’t want me, also good, so that I learn to be independent, help me learn to be strong. So, it’s all good!

What you sow is what you get.
The most obvious cause and effect is that the cause of anger is the fruit of illness, and those who are often angry will get sick; the cause of borrowing money is the fruit of repaying it; the cause of cursing is the fruit of being beaten; good causes and good effects, and evil causes and evil effects. Therefore, we must be convinced of cause and effect to learn Buddhism, from the cause of the work, everywhere in the accumulation of respect for other people’s cause, get the fruit of respect; accumulation of healthy cause, get the fruit of health, accumulation of the cause of wealth and charity, get the fruit of wealth; accumulation of Dharma charity, get the fruit of wisdom; accumulation of filial piety and respect for the elderly, get the fruit of longevity; accumulation of the cause of Buddhahood, get the result of Buddhahood; what kind of fruit you want to get, then accumulate what kind of cause.

Karma means business dealings
We come to this world with karma, and if you were good to people in your past life, they will be good to you in this life; if you hurt people in your past life, they will not be too good to you in this life, that is to say, there are both good and bad causes, so life will not be perfect, and there are both bad and good causes, and it is not possible to have a smooth life in which everything goes smoothly. For example, if the family is happy, the career is not necessarily smooth; if the husband and wife love each other, the children are not necessarily filial; if the family is rich, the body is not necessarily healthy; there are all kinds of things.
No matter what kind of fate, what kind of reward, we can only follow the fate, whether it is with the fate of the enjoyment, or with the fate of the sufferer, and only in this way can the old karma, karma is not finished before the end of their own say nothing! Karma is something invisible and invisible, not written on anyone’s face, but with an invisible force, holding people to do things, such as some people smoke, do not smoke on the hard, not when he decided not to quit smoking, to the time to quit smoking when you let him smoke, he did not smoke. There is a time and a place for everything, as if we were planting in spring and harvesting in fall. When it’s time to plant seeds, you plant seeds; when it’s time to pull weeds, you pull weeds; when it’s time to harvest, you harvest.

Children and grandchildren will be blessed.
After learning Buddhism, many older people still can’t let go of their children’s affairs, or even their grandchildren. They think of their grandchildren in this and that way, and Yin Zu said, “At the end of their lives, they treat their children and grandchildren as if they did not know them. If you don’t train in the usual way, you won’t be able to let go of them at all. This is not a lack of compassion, children and grandchildren have their own blessings, they have their destiny, can you change their fate? Can you change their destiny? They can only change the reality when they realize it themselves. If the last thought of the deathbed is still attached to them, then whoever you are attached to will live with you in the next life!

The process of learning Buddhism should not be rushed
Being in a hurry is a manifestation of a separate mind that cannot believe in karma. Some people are in a hurry to get things done, scrambling to get them done quickly so that they can go and worship the Buddha and recite the sutras; others want to get well tomorrow by reciting the Buddha’s teachings today, or to get well next month by reciting the Buddha’s teachings this month; all of these thoughts are delusions that go against cause and effect. Three feet of ice is not cold in a single day. Over many kalpas, we have created so many karmic obstacles. Is it possible to be in bad health and want to get well all of a sudden, or to have a bad fate and want to be transformed all of a sudden? The success of anything must follow a law, that is, the work is natural. Ancestor Yun: “Not through some cold bones, how to get the fragrance of plum blossoms.”
